Whiff Of Joy #36...

This weeks challenge on WOJ is a fab sketch by Heather.

No prizes for guessing which WOJ image I used! Besides the fact you can see it above - it's one of the very few images I have left...................Good job I ordered 5 WOJ stamps at the weekend!!! Watch out next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Henry is once again coloured with my WC pencils. I bought some Derwent Aquatone's at the weekend, the ones that look like pencils but are solid colour - still to try them properly yet! Anyone else use them?
I've also covered him with a coat of 3d Gloss - I love the look it gives.

The papers are from the same pad as the card a few posts down, I bought it from my local craft shop. It's called 'Cupcakes' and is by Craft House.
Off to soak up the last of the evening sun, hope you're all not getting too hot & sticky!

Allsorts #7

Wow! How early I am on this weeks challenge from Allsorts??? The spec this week set by Jackie is to use acetate somewhere on the card.

I have my niece's 18th birthdays on Saturday so thought I'd make them acetate cards! I've never used acetate as the main body of the card before - but was quite pleased with how they turned out.

The fab glittery flowers are from wrapping paper I saw yesterday in 'that card shop!' I'd gone it to check out some damask paper that another niece likes for her wedding invites - I came out of the shop with 5 sheets of stunning black, purple glittery paper - flowers, stripes, damask and solid colours - may actually take a pic to show you!!!

Back to my Allsorts cards! As my niece's are identical twins I've always done them very similar cards with a slight variation - I thought Miss Anya would be a good choice - they are coloured with my WC pencils.

Hope you like my offering(s), off to see what other challenges I can do nice and early for a change!

Stamptacular Sunday.....

..............Red, White, Blue and a Star too!! That was the spec. over on Stamptacular Sunday Challenge Blog this week.

Loved making this card - I love it when I sit down not having a clue what I'm going to do and it all 'evolves' into something that's not too bad!

Cut out an apature using Nestie to make a shaker card - the star backing is some packing card from some gems - so I'm recycling too!

Used some fab Anita's 3d star stickers - I do hope that them being silver doesn't make my card nul-and-void!!!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Done another one........and got it on just in time!!!

This card is my effort for 'Emboss' on the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

The image is coloured with my WC pencils. I layered some BP onto mirri board and then embossed the whole piece in my Cuttlebug with the Divine Swirls folder. 2 colours of ribbons tied together and a strip from the same backing paper stack (can't remember what it is...something to do with cupcakes, pearlised and from my local shop! Will add once I find it!!!)

Hope you like it - got to run, only a couple of mins to go!!!!

Sketch Saturday...

Managed another one!!!

I incorporated a HM image into the sketch over on Sketch Saturday - swapping the elements above and below the image...there wasn't enough room at the bottom for the Cuttlebuged sentiment!

The papers are from a pack of hand made papers I bought about 2 years ago - very cheap ones too!

Hope you like my take on this sketch, off to see if there's any more I can do :0

Allsorts 6...'Wings'

Thought it was about time I pulled my finger out and tried to complete a few challenges!!!

I just had to use my new 3d butterfly punch for the 'Wings' theme for this weeks challenge over on the Allsorts challenge blog.

I punched through the BP and the card base to give more dimension.

Penny Black image coloured with WC pencils and glossed with Anita's 3d Gloss.

BP is from DCWV 'Pocket Full of Posies' stack

A Little Taster.........................

...............of more pictures to come!!!

I was at the Millenium Stadium last night with another 60,000 people. It was FAB!!!

If you've yet to go to the Take That Circus Tour you may not want to look at any more pictures - it might take the surprise out of the fantastic spectacle you are in for! Just don't take your eyes off the mass of balloons that come onto stage at the start ;)

I will put a couple more of the 196 photos I took up on Friday :)

By the way, we weren't this close - I just took the highest zoom camera that we have!

Stampin' For The Weekend #1

The first challenge on Stampin' for the weekend blog is called 'Dusk to Dawn'. It's a colour challenge using PURPLE & YELLOW.

I coloured Tilda with my WC pencils and used DCWV 'Pocket full of Posies' BP.

I've also used a flower centre and one of the gorgeous charms I got this week from Quixotic Paperie - Elaine has a FAB range over there!

Whiff Of Joy #33

This week over on the WOJ Challenge Blog the request was to use charms, and I have started to REALLY love charms since some great crafty friends introduced me (you know who your are!!) In fact I had some gorgeous ones delivered this week - but I'd already made my WOJ card - so you'll have to wait to see them!!!
I used Henry again - isn't he the most versatile stamp ever? Coloured him with my WC pencils (Copics are taking a long time to save for!) and used the gorgeous paper that is DCWV Sweet - this one makes me think of 'mint-choc-chip', but then anything can make me think of mint-choc-chip!!!!!!

The charm, bead and chain all came from very inexpensive braclets that I bought to dismantle - I could make about 10 of these, all for £2!!!!!!!

The Nestie with Henry and the sentiment have both been heat embossed with Holographic powder - I love the look of whole pieces embossed like this.

Wedding Candle

Only did this today - despite the date!!! Party was tonight after the wedding abroad - In fact I did it tonight as I had to go and buy tissue paper cos I couldn't find mine! Got back from town at half 5 and leaving for party at half 7!!!!!! Will I ever learn???? They loved it anyway :)

I love doing these candles. Image and text is printed onto tissue from computer......very carefully - tissue is taped to card to 'carry' it through the printer!

I needed to make a box to fit the candle
- so made this one measuring as I went along!

I did make a 'rough' one before making the template
and then made this one!!!!

This paper engineering is really hard work ;)

Sketch Saturday #53

To celebrate SS's birthday week the DT are each giving away a bag of goodies to one challenger!!! I'm cutting it really fine too - as the card must be linked to their blogs by 8am this morning!

Fantastic sketch to work from again - I love using sketch's since starting these challenges - they are a great way to get you 'thinking' about your layout, rather than doing your own 'automatic' positioning.......if you know what I mean ;)
This sketch I've turned 90* CCW.

I've used a Gorjuss girl coloured with my WC pencils, Nestie to cut her out, ribbon, pearls, chipboard ribbon slider, BG paper and a butter lid! Yep.....you read right! 'Butter-Me-Up' by Tesco to be precise! I have changed by brand since finding out the peel off lid goes through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder to look perfect every time.......................I can't be the only one in Blogland who demands the peel off lid comes off in ONE and is promptly washed and left on my desk, am I?

Truly Scrumptious #8

'More than 1 fold'... that's the challenge offered by Truly Scrumptious this fortnight! The DT have come up with some fab cards - pop over to have a look.

I've used an image that was sent as a RAK by a great blogging friend - Alex. Not sure what it's called - if you know can you tell me ;)

Used some more of my gorgeous 'Sweet' DCWV papers again. Ribbon, Brads and feather from my stash. Vellum quote from DCWV fixed with brads to back panel.

Simon Says.....Animals

Over on the Simon Says... challenge blog this week the theme is animals.

I've used a gorgeous Penny Black image that I've coloured with my WC pencils.

More of the yummy paper from my new DCWV 'Sweet' selection - I'm so going to have to buy another stack!!!

The sentiment was cut using my CuttleBug..........I do love my Bug ;)
The fringing was picked up from my local ribbon stall.
