Whiff of Joy #32

Brown & Blue is the theme for this week's WOJ challenge and what a great pair of colours to work with :)

Of course I HAD to use my new DCWV 'Sweet' papers - they are absolutely gorgeous! I've used a brown striped glittery one for the main backing and layered the image onto one of the glittery cupcake sheets.

Henry has been coloured with my WC pencils and the frosting has been coated with Glamour Dust - as have the buttons :)

(I coat the buttons with clear nail varnish then drop them into the dust)

Allsorts #2

I missed the first challenge on the new Allsorts Blog last week :( But have managed to get the 2nd challenge done just in time!

The spec for this challenge was 'No Stamped Image' - so I used Daisy & Dandelion stickers! The papers are also from the D&D range.

Sketch Saturday #52

Fantastic sketch this week on Sketch Saturday - Fab stamps as prize too :)

I turned the sketch and added a few extra bubble embellies!

Tilda with Muffin coloured with my old faithful WC pencils.
Flowers are from the 'nasty, cheap, tacky' false flower sprigs I now buy by the dozen to pull apart! (£1.50 for 80 flowers!)
Papers are from Making Memories - Avenue Collection.

I can't believe I've managed to do so many challenges this week!!!

Truly Scrumptious #7

Yet another challenge I've managed to do this weekend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This fortnight's sketch on the TS challenge blog also had the theme of 'Going Dotty' - spots, circles and dots!!! The great sketch was drawn by Dawn :)

I do hope the original sketch is still visible in my card! I turned the sketch but also had to move some of the elements over a little, as the image I chose to use was larger than one the sketch was designed for...trust me!!!!!

I've used the gorgeous Tilda with Sunflower - coloured with my WC pencils (again!), dotty paper from the FAB 'Sparkly' pad by K & Co and spotty vellum from PM 'Exquisite' Vellum Collection.........

Simon Says...SKETCH!

Another sketch in this week's challenge blogland - this time from Simon Says Challenge and this one is done by Iris. It's a great sketch, I love the half circle element.

I embossed my mirri card half circle with CB folder (can't remember what this one's called at the mo!).

The backing paper if from Anita's Classic Christmas Black Papers!!!

Stamp is from PM (I do wish they'd name their stamps!) which has been heat embossed with silver.

The flowers are die cuts that were sent to me as a RAK quite some time ago.

The charm is from one of my 'weekend bargains'! I bought 3 silver charm braclets with 5 different heart charms on each - from the £ shop!

Whiff of Joy #31

This weeks challenge at WOJ was a sketch provided by Heather. A fab sketch too!

I've used Henry.........................I LOVE Henry, but still have to get one of my own!!!

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I was going to cut a piece of the front away. I cut away a 5cm section to expose the inside and turned the BP to empasise it. Henry is coloured with Watercolour pencils and glazed with 3d Gloss. The paper is from the DCWV Glitter Stack.

The flowers and spacers were a birthday pressie from a fab crafty friend - thanks Cathy :)

Friday Sketchers #53

The sketch for this week's FS challenge is by Heidi - it's fab and so is Heidi's blog!

I've used The Greeting Farm's 'Skater Ian' for this card, coloured him with my Whispers and waterbrush.

The backing paper is 'Gunmetal Crinkle Foil' - I love it, it has a metalic 2-tone effect - this one is a bronze colour that turns green when you move it! I found it in Exeter's Paperchase last weekend. As we've not got a Paperchase here I had to buy 2 huge sheets of it!!!

I turned it over to cover the card blank - I wanted it plain but liked the fact you could still see the crinkle.

I wanted brads in top left corner but my metalic ones are too small so I used gold coloured large split pins from Staples (99p for about 100!) I wiped them in Versamark and heat embossed with copper powder. I'm quite pleased how they turned out :)

Sentiment is heat embossed with copper and enchanted gold powder. 'JOSH' is done with Doodlebug 'stick with it' D/S letters and glitter. THANKS for the letters Dawn - this is the first card I've made using something from your fab candy :)
Thought I needed to even out the colours, so I added a large glue dot to another split pin and glittered that too!

Just Magnolia #6

This week at the Just Magnolia Challenge blog the theme is......Let's Get in Shape! (I've been saying that for years!!!!) Have to make a 'shaped' card - anything other than square or rectangle.

Thought I'd use my Nesties Labels 2 as I've not used them yet - not used much over the past week mind!

Made the card blank with the largest of the large set - still not really large enough tho! Cut the tiniest slice off the bottom so it would stop rocking when I stood it up!!!

Coloured Tilda with my Watercolour pencils and added 3d Gloss. Chalked edge of card and used some backing paper from DCWV Glitter Stack. Added a feather and 'Thank You' stamp from the Papermania Marie Curie clear stamp set.

I've Won Candy!!!!!!!

I've won Dawn's birthday candy :) How chuffed am I?

The household was in riots a few minutes ago when I noticed - everyone here wants to know why made such a noise!

I can't wait.......................................

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

Alex's Candy with a Twist!!

At last I think I can upload the card I've made for Alex's Candy challenge!!!

Made it a while ago - but wanted it to arrive at its destination before showing it - hope it's there now ;)

I'm sure the stamped image doesn't need any introduction - but just incase you've been on Mars for the last few weeks it's from The Greeting Farm and is one of the set of 3 Miss Anyas.

I've used a couple of layers of ribbon, some flowers and paper from the K & Co Sparkly Sweet.

Hope you like my offering Alex :)

Friday Sketchers #51

I managed to get another one done tonight!!!
This weeks Friday Sketchers challenge sketch was done by Carole and it's fab!

The papers and image is from the Daisy & Dandelion collection (it's a sticker image - my colouring isn't that good!)

Will be sending this on to a friend who's not been too well - Hope it cheers her up a little :)

Just Magnolia......................only just tho!!!!!

Wow.......................How long since I've been here!!!

Had a busy week or two and only just managed to squeeze this weeks Just Magnolia Challenge in!

The week's challenge is entitled 'In Stitches', here's my offering:

Tilda with Thistle coloured with my watercolour pencils. My stiching is faux! I use a dressmakers wheel to mark the 'holes' and add the pen lines - was sooooo chuffed when I found the wheel as I used to spend AGES with a pin and ruler!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #4

This week's challenge over at the Stamptacular Sunday blog is called "Charmed, I'm Sure!"

Self explanitory really!!!

This weeks prize is a fab Sugar Nellie stamp and a bag of those gorgeous candy gem thingy-mijigs!!!
(pop over and you'll see what I mean!!!)

I used one of my Forever Friends Stamps and used my Watercolour pencils again! - I wonder if the birthday fairies will bring me some Copics next week ?????????

I used black paper to cover the white card blank as I wanted to be able to see the pattern on the vellum easier. Vellum was fixed with gem brads. The black star card is actually some packaging from some skeleton leaves from miccraft.net - aren't I thrifty?

Now for the charm........

The barrel that is threaded onto the ribbon came from a cheapy braclet I brought from my local supermarket! There was beads, barrels, charms and spacers - all for less that £2! I swapped the charm for one out of my stash that would match.

Vellum used is from the PM Exquisite stack.

Sketch Saturday #48

Great sketch on Sketch Saturday this week :) Fab prize too - 2 new stamps from the Kadoodle range from The Craft Barn.

I decided to get my Daisy & Dandelion stamps out and show them a bit of ink!!!

The backing paper I've used is from the Forever Friends pad - something else I've not opened since I bought it............months ago!!!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 46 ....

.........anything goes!

This week over at the PBSC blog the theme was 'anything goes'.

As well as being a little bit of a PB stamp addict (who isn't?), I also love their Stickeroos so decided to use some for this weeks card(s)!!!

I thought I'd use the 'Stick Kids' - they are great to make quick cards for children, so I carried on making.......and ended up with a set of 4!

As you can see they are all very quick, simple cards - but that's one thing I love about the PB Stickeroos.
I've used various papers and glitter card and encorporated sentiments from my stash.
